Frisco Liposuction Expert Guide and Tips

Do liposuction results last? Why or why not?

Once a fat cell is created, is can never be removed (except through surgery), but it can be emptied.  Through exercise, and eating right those fat cells can be drained of their adipose tissue (and shrunk).  With liposuction, it completes that part for you.

Your body doesn't forget how to create fat cells, and you have not changed any habits to prevent it from creating new ones, so you will rebuild the fat cells and find yourself in the same place as before.

The real key to ANY health change, is making it permanent.  Make it a part of your habits.  If you change your actions (eating, exercise, stress, etc.) you will not build new fat cells.

What are some tips for hiding a liposuction?

Generally after having liposuction, one wears a compression garmet for days to weeks after surgery to encourage the normal swelling to improve quickly and to help contour your new body. Fat removal is the beginning; the skin must then shrink for your body to appear more toned or smaller. This process takes at least 2-3 months. To go from somewhat fat to thin overnight doesn't happen. Continue to work out and diet appropriately, you can then reveal your new waistline in about 3 months.

What are the risks of liposuction?

As with any surgical procedure, there are risks with liposuction. But done correctly, the results are usually worth it, provided you are committed to regular exercise and a nutritious diet. It is not meant for weight loss, but rather for areas of YOUR body that are exercise resistant. And you must have realistic expectations.

Risks certainly start with the anesthetic used: general or local. There can be residual indentations, too much fat removed leading to metabolic problems. Depending on the machine, burns are possible, and even skin necrosis. Infection post-op.

How does liposuction work for men and what are its side effects?

Male cosmetic procedures increased nearly 2% from 2009 to 2015, according to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons. A 14% increase in face-lifts, an 11% increase in ear surgery and rise in number of men opting for Botox injections and minimally invasive skin procedures were also on the rise. In fact, over one million men engaged in some type of reconstructive or cosmetic plastic surgery.
